In addition to helping members learn how to speak better, Rostrum offers practical help with understanding standard meeting procedure. If you've ever wanted to join a committee, but felt daunted by the rules of behaviour involved, we can help. Similarly, we can help anyone who is on a committee, and just a little unsure about what a chairperson is allowed (and required) to do, or some other niggling detail.

Instruction comes in the form of tutorials, practical experiences, and friendly quiet words from experienced chairpersons. Members can also purchase a number of Rostrum publications covering the area if they wish.  Many Rostrum clubs allow you to experience various roles in the meeting process and provide guidance on the role of chairperson, secretary, treasurer and other roles.

Of course our public speaking training is also of great use to committee men and women. Being able to bring others to your point-of-view and being able to quickly and effectively respond to the words of others are both important parts of personal meeting success.
