About Club 7

Club 7 meets at the Best Western Centretown Motor Inn, 77 Lagoon St, Goulburn on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6.00pm. Goulburn Rostrum Club is a “not for profit” organisation which seeks to further public speaking and debating in the Goulburn region.

Goulburn Rostrum promotes the Primary Schools Public Speaking Competition which is open to all primary school students in the region. In 2015 we had a record 14 primary schools entered in the competition.

This competition has been very successful in past years but with the kind support of the Veolia Mulwaree Trust, Goulburn Rostrum Club is now in a position to further promote and take public speaking to another level in our region.

Goulburn Rostrum Club is a club which promotes public speaking and debating within its own membership and competes in interclub competitions.

As well as promoting public speaking Goulburn Rostrum Club also conducts evenings devoted to Correct Meeting Procedure. These sessions address the correct planning and running of meetings with emphasis on motions, rescision motions and the like. The club also promotes the correct chairing of meetings, with members encouraged to chair our actual meetings.

Goulburn Rostrum Club actively encourages member participation but at no stage is it mandatory. Members are free to move at their own pace.

The club is one where members come from all walks of life but come together in a great spirit of friendship and with a common purpose.
