About Club 32 - SA's most vibrant Rostrum Club

Rostrum Club 32, formed in 2009, is based in Burnside, although members come from all over Adelaide.

The exciting young club consists of experienced members who act as mentors for the other many new people.  Our club includes some where English is their second language.

There are students, professionals, business people, some who are retired and others who simply wish to be part of a stimulating group.

Yes, we have a lot of fun.  The common feedback from visitors is that the meeting was stimulating and enjoyable and the members are welcoming.

Combined with lively, stimulating and enjoyable meetings, Burnside Club 32 is growing with quite a few visitors at each meeting.

One big decision made recently was to switch the business to the end and commence with the speaking section, which has made it more exciting.

The programme has been varied and interesting and Coach Ian Drummond has been a wonderful asset, especially to those who are early in their Rostrum journey.

More visitors are welcome.  We encourage you to make contact with us. Contact   This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Zooming ahead with new members

At the meeting of Burnside Rostrum Club 32 in April 2020, President Phil Heath inducted Nick Cooper as a member.  A school teacher at Seymour College, Nick was previously an Engineer, but despite his academic record, felt he needed to brush up on his public speaking.  An ideal new member, wouldn’t you say.  Anyway Nick and our members are delighted that has has joined us.

Despite having to undertake the ceremony by video link, the induction was dignified, our President said all the right things and Nick recited the Rostrum Promise.  We followed the protocol of a completed ‘Nomination for Membership’ Form and Nick has had a copy of the SA&NT Constitution and also the Club Bylaws.

Training workshops

Club 32 regularly holds free public seminars to help community members improve their work situation, gain self confidence and develop other specific skills.

One Workshop we held for our members and the wider community was on the topic - Speak With Confidence, Find Your Voice. Please let us know if there is something in particular that you would like to learn and share with other keen individuals.
